Use in Microbiology

Microbiology places particular demands on a laboratory’s EDP system. Automation is not yet widespread and manual labour and experience play a major role. The MCS vianova Microbiology module’s comprehensive logging facility can be used to document work requests easily, which in turn impacts on appraisal and invoicing.

Sender-specific antibiotic programmes make for a more personalised service, whilst ensuring that everything still remains accessible at a glance. The requisite notifications under the Information Protection Act are automatically generated by the system. The module also enables findings to be entered in free form via a report generator. All data can be processed for statistical purposes, e.g. to determine a unit’s level of nosocomial infections.

The Microbiology module can run as a fully integrated version within MCS vianova Laboratory or as an appropriately configured standalone for use in hygiene institutes or specialised microbiology laboratories.
